The Ohio State Plowing Contest was held on Saturday, August 20, 2016
at Carriage Hill MetroPark in Huber Heights, just north of Dayton, Ohio. The winners in each class qualify to represent the state of Ohio
at the US Draft Horse and Mule Plowing Contest on October 22 in Olympia, Kentucky. Over the past few weeks, there had been a lot of rain in this part of the country,
but the ground used for the contest was in good shape. On the day of the event, the skies were partly cloudy and there was a threat of rain
in the afternoon, so everyone tried to get started as soon as the judges were ready. All of the plots had been plowed and judged by early
afternoon and the results were able to be announced prior to the arrival of any treatening weather. Click below to see photos from this event.
